DownEast Renewable Energy, LLC is a solar finance and development business focused on building a portfolio of operating assets including; Distributed Solar, Commercial and Industrial Solar, and Community Solar projects.  We develop, finance, own and operate roof mount, carport, and ground mount installations.  We partner with a wide variety of property owners including municipalities, commercial and industrial businesses, real estate asset managers, and non-profit organizations. We own and operate solar arrays on their property in exchange for long term stable lease revenue or discounted fixed or variable rate power purchase agreements.

Solar Finance and Development 

DownEast manages the development, construction, and ongoing asset management of its portfolio of projects providing a turnkey solution for property owners.  Our capital base, long-term strategic investment focus and deep knowledge of federal and state specific solar programs, incentives, and investment tax credits allow us to offer competitive and flexible structures.  DownEast partners with experienced local third-party installers.

DownEast currently operates in the following markets and continues to expand as federal and state specific programs and incentives evolve; Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.

The business pairs with the philanthropic efforts of the family’s foundation which supports organizations focused on progressing renewable energy legislation and policies. Both the investment and philanthropic efforts are a multi-generational commitment by the family, who are excited to partner with organizations to accelerate the adoption of solar and further the role of private capital and enterprise in renewable energy.
